How Does a Goslyn Work?
The Goslyn units work in an incredibly simple and therefore reliable manner, there are no moving parts or timers to fail or set incorrectly nor are there any restrictions to the flow within the unit- Goslyn simply lets gravity and some clever engineering principles accelerate the natural separation of oils and water.
Effluent flow is determined by the integral flow attenuation device supplied with each unit which flattens out the peak initial hydraulic load created when a full sink is drained, the effluent is filtered via the managed flow filter basket prior to being fed through the baffle and weir arrangement within the unit.
Oils and greases are captured and dispensed immediately and automatically via the oil ejection valve which is fitted with a non-return system which prevents water exiting the valve with the oils and fats.
Solids free, oil and grease free effluent is then simply allowed to exit the unit to drain.
3 simple steps to fit the best
- Select the unit you require either by utilising our sizing tool or link to us via the which Goslyn button where can undertake a virtual survey via Zoom, Teams or WhatsApp.
- We deliver the unit for installation either via an accredited installer or by your own plumbing/drainage contractor. (comprehensive guides are included or can be )
- Staff training and refreshers for new starters is provided as a video or virtually.
Goslyn units are incredibly simple to maintain and operate, consuming less that 500w of power there is no requirement for costly ‘monthly’ preventative maintenance contracts.
Our resource centre features all the information you will require for your staff or local contractor to maintain your Goslyn with ‘how to’ guides for all replaceable parts available as an open source.
We also have our helpline to which calls are free from landlines and mobiles where our experienced staff will assist with any issues.

Where to Install a Goslyn
Goslyn Grease Removal Units (GRUs) are clear leaders in protecting drainage infrastructure for catering establishments, reducing blockages with a simple to operate and efficient system.
Available now direct from the manufacturer at Goslyn GRUs represent the best value proposition for protecting your drains from fats, oils and greases.
Our units can be installed simply in a number of places:
- Under pot wash and utensil sinks
- Cobi/Steam Ovens
- Wok Burners
- Mop sinks
- Centralised drainage areas for hotels and large venues
Combi and Rotisserie Ovens
Combi and Rotisserie ovens create a significant amount of grease laden effluent during their respective cooking and rinse cycles, this is exasperated when cooking poultry (Did you know that each chicken cooked in this manner leeches 100ml of liquid fat!!), this grease is fast solidifying within the drainage network leading to significant pipe blockages and down time/ maintenance cost affecting the venue. The installation of a Goslyn point of use GRD will capture and retain this grease in real time preventing it entering the drains.
Goslyn has worked with two international operators each cooking vast numbers of chickens for hot sale within their supermarkets, the implementation of the Goslyn oven/rotisserie program has been so successful for these operators they used the systems continuously for the past decade and even mentioned the program within their investor reports to shareholder sand markets.
Double Stacked and Free Standing Ovens
For double stacked smaller ovens and large free standing units where one of more of the drainage outlets are at low level (typically 100mm from ground) we have a unique package that will automatically pump the effluent gently up and into a Goslyn GRD, the Low Drain Pump System (LDPS) has been extensively deployed by numerous operators to successfully resolve this issue.
The clients enjoy the fully automated aspect of the system together with it’s robust reliability.
Where the amount of grease recovered is significant we have an add on unit which automatically pumps the recovered grease into a larger receptacle.
